Can We Hide Our Real Self From God

I originally wrote this in another blog on November 15, 2007.  I thought I'd share it here.

Can we hide our real self from God? This is one question that many might ask, and wonder about. The truth of the matter is, we can try as hard as we want to, but we can't hide anything, including our real self from God. Because he is all knowing, and he sees everything that happens in his creation. He knows our hearts better than we do. I gave up trying to hide the real me from God a long time ago, because I wasn't getting anywhere with it. He always knew, and He would let me know that he knew, using what ever means I would listen to at the time.

God is all knowing, that means he knows everything about every one at any one time. In the Bible, many times, God proves that he knows everything about us. Remember, Jesus talking to the woman at the well. He told her things about her life that he could not have known, unless he actually knew her. Remember how Paul met Jesus for the first time. He was called Saul at the time. "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me", He said. If God didn't know everything about Paul he wouldn't have even bothered talking to him on the road, while on his way to arrest more Christians, because he wouldn't have known that Paul would repent and change his life and his ways, and become an Apostle in God's service. When God spoke with Abraham and told him he would make a great nation of him. He picked his timing wisely, because he knew that Abraham was not ready when he first talked to him. He knew that Abraham had some growing to do before he could become the father of a nation.

I say that if you really think you can hide your true self from God, go ahead and try, but you will not get very far. God sees and knows everything about everyone. That's why He is God and we are not.

  1. Thank you, Julie

It is so precious to give our all to our Father, who is our Creator. Nothing is hidden from Him. It is such a comfort to know that He forever Knows....

  2. Yes Sandra,

He even sees and knows our pain, and he is not just with us during those times, but he's carrying us through them.
