The Israelites traveling in the wilderness/desert.

I never realized until recently while doing a Beth Moore Bible study recently that when the Israelites traveled in the desert/wilderness, they traveled/camped in the shape of a cross.

                                        Total 151,450
                                              South
The largest camp was on the east with the tribes of Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.  Total amount in this camp was 186,400
The smallest camp was on the west with the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Benjamin.  Total amount in this camp was 108,100
The camps to the north and to the south had just about the same amount of people in them
To the north we had Dan, Asher, and Naphtali.  Total amount in this camp was 157,600
To the south we had Reuben, Simeon, and Gad.  Total amount in this camp was151,450.

It’s amazing to me that, even then, God was thinking about what it was going to take to reconcile us to Him.  God is Amazing, isn’t he...
